Dead Lakes RV Park is a tranquil 40-site sanctuary designed for those who love the "Old Florida" aesthetic. Nestled among ancient cypress skeletons and longleaf pines, guests enjoy direct access to the 6,700-acre Dead Lakes via two on-site boat ramps and fishing piers. The property also features two private fishing ponds, a nature hiking trail, and a community playground. Modern conveniences like high-speed Starlink WiFi at every site, a full bathhouse, laundry facilities, and an on-site camp store with kayak rentals ensure a comfortable stay. Your four-legged friends are also welcome at our dedicated fenced-off dog park.

About the Host

We are John and Ariel Guinn, the on-site managers at Dead Lakes RV Park. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and community-oriented environment for all our guests.

John is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Orlando with a passion for the outdoors, including fishing and hunting. His background ensures the park remains well-maintained and organized. Ariel, originally from North Carolina, focuses on guest experience and organization, bringing her love for gardening and a friendly touch to our daily operations.

As an on-site team, we share a love for cooking and family time. We are dedicated to making sure your stay is comfortable and that you get the most out of the unique "Old Florida" beauty of the Dead Lakes.

▶ How do I access the bathhouse and property at Dead Lakes Glamping?

Guests receive a digital Glamping Guide 24 hours before check-in via email and SMS. This includes your private 4-digit keypad codes for the bathhouse and entry gates. If you need assistance, our on-site host is available during your stay.

▶ Is there Wi-Fi or cell service at Dead Lakes?

Dead Lakes is designed as a "digital detox" escape. Cell service is limited, but high-speed Wi-Fi is available at the central bathhouse. We recommend downloading your check-in details before arriving.

▶ Is it cheaper to book direct or through Airbnb/Vrbo?

You’ll always get the best rate by booking direct on our website. Guests typically save 12–15% by avoiding third-party service fees.

▶ Are there alligators at Dead Lakes?

Yes — this is a natural Florida ecosystem. Alligators live in the basin but rarely approach elevated glamping areas. Guests should keep pets leashed and avoid the water’s edge after dusk.

Guests enjoy kayaking, paddle boating, and boating through the cypress-filled waters. The calm basin is also ideal for swimming and exploring the submerged forest.

Absolutely. The area is known for bass fishing, fly fishing, and incredible bird watching, including ospreys and eagles.
